History Facts of BGC
The Land measuring 3.766 hectares in Abule-Ado Festac town extension off Badagry express way, Lagos on which Bethlehem Girls College is erected was allocated by the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) to the Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos on September 4, 1992.The Holy Family Catholic Church, Festac town started the fencing of the land in 2004 and was completed in 2006. With the completion of the fence, an access road was constructed for the neighboring communities in order to enable the Catholic Church take full possession of the land. In March 2007, construction work on site commenced.The Parish, quasi-parishes and the only Catholic primary school in Festac town have a bearing on the family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph (The Holy Family). And so, when a secondary school was first conceived, the birth place of Jesus was considered in connection with the names of the Catholic institutions in existence in Festac town. Hence, the name, Bethlehem Girls College came into being to depict the bond that exists in the family.
Our SchoolBethlehem Girls College (BGC) owned by the Archdiocese of Lagos is a well organised Catholic Secondary School for girls with boarding facilities; a center for excellence and total development of the girl child. It was commissioned July 26, 2012 and opened her doors for academic activities September 20, 2012.
